Will I be held liable should the cleaner injure herself while performing her duties?
Under the Work Injury Compensation Act (replaces the Workmen's Compensation Act with effect from 1 April 2008), domestic workers are not covered by the Act. In other words, you are not responsible for any forms of compensation benefits if the cleaner injures herself during work. However, to the best of their abilities, employers are required to provide cleaners with a safe working environment.
What do I need to prepare for the cleaner?
To ensure that the cleaning session is efficient and quick, owners are required to have all basic cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, broom, mops, dusters, wipe cloths, pails ready as well as all cleaning solutions and detergents, along with plenty of water. Can I extend the working/cleaning hours?

You can call and request the company to extend the hours and pay the cleaner for the extra hours accordingly. However, some companies have a cut-off limit to the number of hours their cleaners are permitted to work in a day to avoid overworking them, in which case, the cleaners will have to visit your home the next day to complete the job.

Do I have to be in the house when your team is cleaning?
